Chrome Ore from Zimbabwe and South Africa: Our chrome ore is sourced from prime locations in Zimbabwe and South Africa, renowned for their abundance of high-quality chrome deposits. The geological richness of these regions ensures that our chrome ore stands out for its purity, consistency, and exceptional composition.

The chromite ore is concentrated in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kazakhstan, Russia, Finland, India. South Africa is the major chromite ore supplier. Chromite is weekly magnetic. Its density ranges in 4.1~4.7g/cm3, its Mohs hardness fluctuates within 5.5~6.5, and its color differs from black to dark brown. Its major gangue minerals are talc, olivine, serpentine, and pyroxene.

Chromite is the commercial name for iron chromium oxide (FeCr2O4), a mineral consisting of chromium and iron oxide found naturally in the earth’s mantle. Once extracted, it is referred to as chrome ore. Chromite is integral to the production of ferrochrome, an alloying agent crucial in manufacturing stainless steel. It imparts corrosion resistance properties to stainless steel, making it ideal for diverse industries. When chromite is extracted, it becomes chrome ore. The ore undergoes crushing, screening, and jigging processes to form chrome concentrate, which is then smelted into ferrochrome. Ferrochrome, combined with nickel, is further processed into stainless steel.

Interconnected Commodities: Chrome ore, ferrochrome, and stainless steel are closely linked commodities. Their pricing, demand, and consumption exhibit similar trends. Chrome ore is a vital component for ferrochrome production. Ferrochrome, along with nickel, plays a vital role in stainless steel production, accounting for over 95% of global chrome ore consumption. In turn, stainless steel production represents more than 80% and 70% of ferrochrome and nickel consumption, respectively. Stainless steel serves as the major driver for the demand and pricing of ferrochrome and chrome ore commodities.

South Africa: South Africa is the world's largest source of chromite, historically representing about 72% of global reserves. Its abundant chromite reserves, coupled with advanced infrastructure, make it one of the world's lowest-cost chrome ore producers. In 2016, South Africa produced 49% of the world's chrome ore, with approximately half exported for smelting into ferrochrome and subsequent processing into stainless steel.

Zimbabwe: Zimbabwe historically holds the second-largest chromite reserves, accounting for around 12% of global reserves. Recent policy changes have led to increased chrome ore production. In 2015, the government lifted a ban on chrome exports, aiming to boost smelting within the country. However, chrome stockpiles grew due to limited smelting capacity, high production costs, and power shortages. The government increased royalty on chrome from 2% to 5% but subsidized electricity tariffs for chrome processing. Consequently, Zimbabwe's chrome exports rose from 100kt (January to September 2016) to 385kt in the same period in 2017.

SUPPLY CHAIN ACTIVITIES:

PROCUREMENT:

We now source Chrome ore from Zimbabwe and South Africa, and we are expanding our sources to DR Congo. These products are offered mainly on long term basis. We promise our international customers a maximum level of continuity in the supply of affordably priced copper ore from Africa.

Each month, we are able to deliver up to 10,000 MT of Chrome ore. We will eventually be able to increase supplies to 20,000 MT per month by broadening the seller portfolio.

TRANSPORTATION:

In order to ensure that the items are delivered from the mine or production facility to the loading port in a safe, effective, and timely way, the transport department is essential to the export process. Loading and unloading, transportation, documentation and communication, safety and compliance are some of the actions involved in this operation.

The Road & Rails network efficiently connects our production facilities to loading ports and secure storage facilities.

LOGISTICS:

To ensure that the items are carried from the mine or manufacturing facility to the loading port safely, effectively, and by all applicable regulations and requirements, the logistics department is essential. To guarantee that the entire export process goes smoothly and that the items arrive at their destination on schedule and in good shape, we work closely with the production, customs, and transport departments.

The logistics department is essential to the export process because it makes sure that the commodities are efficiently and affordably transported from the mine or production facility to the loading port. We offer the greatest services in terms of goods forwarding, shipping documents, transportation administration, and cargo insurance.

We provide international containerized and bulk transportation services on ExW, FCA, FOB, and CIF terms.

PRE-SHIPMENT INSPECTION (PSI):

Pre-shipment activities at the loading port are critical to ensuring that all laws and regulations export the goods, reach their destination on time, and are in good condition.

We collaborate with international pre-shipment organizations such as CCIC, Alex Stewart, Intertek, SGS, Mitrask, etc.

Pre-shipment tasks that frequently occur at the loading port include packing and labeling, inspection and quality control, customs clearance, loading and stowing, and creating and submitting the necessary documentation for the shipment, such as bills of lading, packing lists, and commercial invoices.
